In an electrifying finale that brought the continent to its feet, the Super Falcons of Nigeria soared to a historic victory, clinching their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in a thrilling showdown that confirmed their status as the undisputed Queens of African football.

The win, which unfolded in a charged stadium in Rabat, Morocco, was not just a game it was a statement of dominance, resilience, and the unwavering spirit of Nigerian football. The Super Falcons delivered an exceptional performance throughout the tournament, combining grit, flair, and tactical brilliance that left fans and critics alike in awe.

The victory sparked a wave of national celebration and international recognition, with messages of congratulations pouring in from all corners. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a video call to the triumphant squad, lauded the team’s resilience and excellence. “We are very, very proud of you. The entire nation stands behind you. You lifted our spirits and brought glory to Nigeria,” he said, as he also commended the coaching crew, team management, and ministers who supported the team. Team captain Rasheedat Ajibade expressed gratitude on behalf of the players, thanking the President for his support and promising to personally present the trophy in Abuja.

First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu also joined in celebrating the team's success, describing the Super Falcons as true ambassadors of Nigeria's strength, hard work, and perseverance. “You have once again lifted the pride of our dear nation and cemented your place as Queens of African football,” she said.

The Minister of Women Affairs, Barr. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, who watched the final live alongside Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, and Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Doris Anite-Uzoka, praised the Super Falcons for their inspirational journey. She described the win as a powerful reminder of what women can achieve when given equal opportunity. “You’ve inspired millions of young girls across Nigeria to dream bigger and aim higher,” she said.

Musawa applauded the team’s tactical depth and relentless spirit. “This is not just a win for football; this is a win for the Nigerian woman and the limitless potential she carries.”

Back in Nigeria, the outpouring of admiration continued. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu praised the team’s flawless performance, describing it as “a perfect 10 out of 10,” reflecting the strength, unity, and excellence that define Nigerian sports.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State also sent in his congratulations, calling the win “a reflection of the Nigerian spirit of resilience and courage.” He noted the historic significance of the 10th title, emphasizing that the Super Falcons have firmly established themselves as the team to beat on the continent.

Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, speaking on behalf of the people of Ogun, hailed the Falcons’ achievement as a moment of national pride. “We celebrate this milestone with immense joy. This is more than a victory it’s a legacy.”
